Mutunkei Primary School stands as a beacon of hope for the local community. For years, it has served as an education hub for children, providing them with knowledge and opportunities for a better future. However, like many schools in rural areas, Mutunkei faced its share of challenges. The implementation of a school feeding program in the school, not only nourished young minds but also incentivized parents to send their children to school regularly. As a result, Mutunkei Primary School witnessed a remarkable surge in enrollment.
However, the success brought its own set of challenges. The existing facilities, including washrooms, were ill-equipped to accommodate the increased number of children. Queues formed outside the few available washrooms disrupting classes and causing discomfort among the students.
Realizing the urgent need for additional washroom facilities, Every Child Counts Inc. responded by offering to construct a modern ablution block that will be equipped with clean water, proper sanitation systems, and accessibility features for all students, including those with disabilities.
The new Ablution Block at Mutunkei will not just be a structure, but a gamechanger in addressing the hygiene challenges and act as a symbol of progress, resilience and commitment to the wellbeing of every child. It stands as testament to what can be achieved when we come together to create a positive change.
